Taking to her X account (formerly Twitter), Makhadzi shared her excitement but also revealed a story that left her fans buzzing. She wrote:
“I don’t think I will heal from this… my album is drooping today… I did a song with Mzekezeke and I never got a chance to see his face… trust me we will never see this face. Phela I had to record my verse and when his turn comes the bouncers came and say we must go out cz no one allowed to see him. Sesi Ka Rose, album is drooping midnight.”
Her tweet quickly got people talking — and laughing — as her fans jokingly debated whether she really doesn’t know who Mzekezeke is. The masked Kwaito star has always been a mystery, and rumours have long suggested that he might be radio host and entrepreneur DJ Sbu.
The comments under Makhadzi’s post were filled with laugh emojis and playful teasing.
One user, @Remiazania2, replied: “You know who he is and you are bound by the secrecy clause you signed.”
Another fan, @unclesplanet, added: “We understand that the contract says you must not disclose the information.”
Others were more curious than ever. @gtherealist92 asked: “This guy is not DJ Sbuh for real?”
And @AngelM133197 accused her of keeping secrets, writing: “You are lying you saw him, tell us the truth Makhadzi.”
The playful back-and-forth between Makhadzi and her fans highlights just how much excitement surrounds both her new album and her collaboration with Mzekezeke. While the mystery of his identity continues to entertain South Africans, one thing is certain: Sesi Ka Rose is already one of the most anticipated albums of the year.
With Makhadzi’s unmatched energy and star power, fans can expect music that celebrates her roots while also delivering the infectious beats she’s known for.
