Linda Mtoba Reveals How Her Dad Broke Her Heart. Birthdays are usually days where a parent’s presence makes a child feel loved on their special day, with any kind of thoughtful and kind gesture.

The actress revealed how one of her vivid memories she has of her father involves him being not being not present for her birthday celebrations. Responding to a viral twitter question about one’s memory of having their heartbroken as a child, Mtoba responded by sharing how her father did not call nor make an appearance for her birthday.

“My dad did not come or even call for my birthday. I waited all day for him and ran to the phone inside when it rang. My (mom’s) family had thrown me a party. Still all I wanted was him to come or at least care enough to call. He didn’t. Maybe I was 4,” she shared.

She went on to reveal that her mom was quite young and should not have had to deal with such a situation, as it also impacted her and that her husband has in some way filled the void of father absenteeism.

“My husband by virtue of being an amazing partner and an even better father not knowingly has healed so much of my hurt. I often look at him especially now with our daughter and I want to cry at just how perfect those moments are. And he often says to me that he just doesn’t understand how someone could choose missing out on all of this, re fatherhood,” she concluded.
