Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni was taken completely by surprise when her friends orchestrated a special celebration for her, and she couldn’t help but share the joy on Instagram. The surprise came after she thought she was simply heading to a “monthiversary” lunch with her husband, Musa Mthombeni. However, it turned out that Musa was in on the whole surprise!
In her post, Liesl wrote, “SURPRISE! My friends really got me with this one!!! I thought I was heading to a monthiversary lunch with husband but it turns out that he was in on the whole surprise indoda emadodeni! My cuties came through to celebrate me for something so exciting and special, and trust me when I say we had the BEST day.”
She continued, expressing how grateful she felt for her friends, saying, “Having people in your life that show up for you without you even asking is something I have been blessed with and I do not take it for granted. Thank you to each and every one of my girlies present (& absent) – you are loved and appreciated. You guys are soooo romantic shem.”
This surprise comes shortly after Musa celebrated their 41-month anniversary. He posted a heartfelt message on Instagram that read, “18 of every month is an occasion for me to celebrate being married to this wonderful and gorgeous woman. Happy monthiversary my gorgeous baby. #41 months married and I still say ‘I Do njayam.’”
Liesl responded with a simple but sweet, “I Do.”
However, Musa’s celebrations didn’t stop there. In a playful twist, he shared a funny story on Instagram about how their girls’ day plans were slightly altered. “Yesterday was supposed to be my monthiversary but I was roped into playing driver for Lies and her friends on their girls’ day. What was supposed to be a ladies brunch and high tea turned into ‘Dark Delicious Driver Daddy Musa, please take us to the Tyla concert and also be our security guard for the night!’”
Being the good sport that he is, Musa joked, “What a great night! Thank you M’Tylana (@tyla) for showing off. It’s so nice!”
