Actress and influencer Lerato Nxumalo has just launched her first business – and it’s all about comfort! The 26-year-old star has officially introduced blaHoody, a brand-new clothing line that features oversized, warm hoodies made from soft, plush fabric. As the name suggests, blaHoody is a mix between a “blanket” and a “hoodie” – perfect for staying cozy and stylish.
Lerato shared the exciting news on Instagram, saying: “I’m terrified but excited. I’m jumping and trusting God. Next week, I’m launching my very first business, blaHoody. A dream born from countless late nights, prayers and the desire to create comfort and warmth for myself and you. I’ve never done anything like this before and some days the fear feels bigger than me. I’m still doubting myself. But I know the God who called me is bigger still.”
She continued: “I’m trusting God with every step, every sale and every moment of doubt. Here’s to stepping out of my comfort zone and into my purpose. Here’s to building something for myself! @blahoody is coming. And I can’t wait to share it with you all. ‘Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.’ – Proverbs 16:3. One day I’ll look back and say ‘wow it all started in my garage lol!’ Thank you guys for the continued support, I’m thee Lerato Nxumalo because of you.”
Just after sharing the launch news, Lerato was overwhelmed by the response. On her Instagram Stories, she said: “Like are you kidding me rn ???!???!?? I’ve been soft launching on my stories but we just gained over 2K more followers in 30 minutes.”
The official blaHoody Instagram page already has over 6,000 followers. Lerato added: “I’m literally shaking and crying rn. Seriously do not know what I did to deserve such a loyal, supportive online family. I’m freakin’ scared but you guys always show up for me.”
Fans have been flooding her comment section with love and congratulations. Many are proud of her new journey into the business world.
Lerato, who got engaged in October 2024, is also known for her roles in Durban Gen and Lingashoni. In the engagement post, she wrote: “Becoming Mrs LP. I love you, baby,” alongside a photo of her and her Swedish fiancé wearing matching rings.
She recently left the e.tv show Scandal! where she played Phakamile Mdletshe. In a goodbye message, she said: “I enjoyed every single moment because I feel like I grew so much. Working with the team that successfully grew me as an actor has been such an honour.”
