Lebo M Reportedly Dragged To Court Over R700K In Unpaid Rent And Property Damage. Lion King producer and award-winning composer Lebohang ‘Lebo M’ Morake has allegedly found himself in the midst of a court case. This after it was reported that the reality star was in arrears for his luxury golf estate home in Johannesburg and was evicted by the property owner, Elizabeth Leonora Alexander.
According to Sunday World, Alexander claims that the musician failed to pay his monthly rent of R65 000 consecutively for a number of months .The landlord also revealed that there are multiple damaged items in the house which include the curtains, a gas braai, remotes and more before prematurely vacating the Lanseria property without paying rent in July last year.
The publication has now reported that the industry icon is in over half a million debt when all outstanding costs have been put together. The homeowner has since filed a case at the Joburg High Court in which she is demanding over R700 000 in unpaid rent for the multi-million Rand Blair Athol Estate mansion.
The publication which is reportedly in possession of the court papers reports that, Alexander said Lebo signed a 24-month lease agreement to rent the property on January 28 last year. The home owner said the lease agreement commenced on March 1 last year and was supposed to end on February 28 the following year.
“After paying a R65 000 deposit, Lebo M moved into the house and was supposed to look after it and repair or replace any broken, damaged or missing items” the publication reports.
She said upon inspection of the property after Lebo M had left, she discovered the property was in a bad state and the total cost of the damages after assessment was R396 000.
The amount added, also included R47 587 for replacement of routers and remotes removed from the house, R3 250 for water feature services and the clean-out of pumps, R17 274 to repair the gas braai, R40 800 to repair the damaged floor of the property, R10 700 for replacement of locks for keys he took, R22 700 for remedial paintwork and R5 000 for replacement of curtains in the domestic room.
