I bet a lot of you still ask yourself what Khanyi Mbau does for a living right? And most of you probably still think she’s just a socialite and Gold Digger, well you’re wrong!!
Khanyi Mbau has upped her game in the entertainment industry and has basically made a sustainable career out of acting. Yes, you read that right if you really know your TV well you would know that in 2005 Khanyi Mbau acted on SABC 2’s Muvhango.
From Muvhango Khanyi has featured in several local movies and has definitely become a Mzansi Magic Kasi Movies star.
Khanyi played the character of Doobsie on Muvhango which is a woman that is quite bitter but business minded and driven to get everything she wants no matter it takes and nothing will get in her way.
Khanyi Mbau was fired from her role as Doobsie in 2005 after she apparently brought negative publicity to the respectable and traditional show by always being the limelight for all the wrong reasons which include partying wildly and being herself for the tabloids.
Even after being fired from the soap Khanyi Mbau bounced back and has made a great success of her acting career. Muvhango however needs to keep up with the times to attract a larger audience that will keep the money flowing in and keep the show on air.
It seems that Khanyi is chasing bigger screens than just the Muvhango audience as she has landed herself her own talk show on eTv and is now acting in a drama that is vastly becoming a huge success on VUZU Amp titled Ayeye.
Khanyi was recently has the cover of Bona magazine and gave a great number of details about her career and future plans in the acting space and also touched on how taking on the role of Doobsie was her actual breakthrough into the industry.
Khanyi then goes on to tell the magazine that the role of Doobsie just might be hers again and that she may be back on the popular soap soon.
“I may or may not go back to the soapie, we’re still in talks about that,” she told the magazine.
Who doesn’t love a little bit of Khanyi Mbau on their screens every now and then?
