There is nothing more natural than a mother breastfeeding her child. That being said, not all are able to breastfeed, or simply choose not to, and instead choose to bottle feed with something like this Lebenswert infant formula to make sure that baby still gets everything it needs nutrition-wise. What is important here is that the mother makes the right choice for their body and their baby. Breastfeeding brings a natural connection between the baby and mother plus has countless benefits for the baby. Of course, it has its challenges. For example, mothers often get sore nipples after a while but they can use a cream to help soothe this pain. Find out more about this on Best For Parents UK. However, even though it’s so natural, a lot of people don’t approve of it – especially when mothers do it in public. This is why Jo-Ann Strauss has decided to fight against the stigma that mothers often face.
Former Miss SA Jo-Ann Strauss had to defend herself against critics after posting photos of herself in a bikini whilst she was 38 weeks pregnant. Taking to her blog Jo-Ann says she doesn’t see anything wrong with embracing the beauty of motherhood. Jo-Ann Strauss slams public breastfeeding shamers.
Jo-Ann says people who find wearing a bikini whilst you’re pregnant wrong are the same people people who would be offended if they saw her breastfeeding in a restaurant. “there’s no shame in breastfeeding my baby”, she wrote.
“Why does my pregnant body offend you? And why does feeding my baby in the most natural way for him/ her offend you? I’m not going to enter into the whole boxing-ring about breastfeeding in public. In my opinion, look the other way, if it offends you and allow me to comfort and feed my little baby.”
Jo-Ann says she did it with her first so and loved it and she feels blessed to be able to do it and lucky that it was easy for her. “Many people struggle to breastfeed and I am grateful that I was not one of them and I do sympathize with those who would love to and are unable to for whatever reason. Motherhood is a wonderful blessing,” she said.
