‘I’m Not Trying To Fill Anybody’s Shoes,’ Thuso Mbedu On Joining Generations! On Sunday, Generations: The Legacy announced via their twitter account that International Emmy nominated actress, Thuso Mbedu was joining the soapie as one of the lead characters.
This comes only a few days after Thuli Phongolo finished shooting her last scenes. With a lot of comparisons, Mbedu later took to her own twitter account sharing that she is not there to fill or fit into anyone’s shoes.
“I’m not trying to fill/fit into anybody’s shoes. I like to believe I come in wearing my own shoes with their own adjustable straps,” she tweeted.

Mbedu says she wants to fill her on shoes and run her own race.
What if I insist on filling those shoes & they are too small? I’m the one who looks weird even if there’s nothing wrong with me.
What if their shoes are too big? I’m the one who’s clonking around, self conscious & uncomfortable.
No thanks.
I’ll run my own race in my own shoes.
