ICYMI! SAFTAs14 Cancelled Due To CoronaVirus Outbreak! The 14th annual South African Film and Television Awards will no longer take place due to Covid-19 outbreak.

The event which was scheduled for the 27th and 28th of March 2020 at the Sandton Convention Center will no longer happen following the President’s announcement on Sunday. The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) announced the cancellation of the event in a statement on social media.

“The National Film and Vedio would like to inform you that the 14th Annual South African Film and Television Awards will no longer take place at the Sandton Convention Center on March 27-28.Further details will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.

SAFTAs organization shared that they would engage with key stakeholders and further details will be communicated in due course.

SAFTA winner Kgomotso Christopher agreed with the decision saying it’s understandable.
