With students rejecting the 6% revised fees increase for the year 2016, the number of protesters has risen and some protests have even gotten violent across the country.

WITS and UJ students are currently outside the Luthuli House in Johannesburg CBD after they had to fight against a wall of SAPS blocking them from crossing the Nelson Mandela bridge.

A number of celebrities and religious leaders have joined in the protests, with EFF and DA also stating that they are one with the students fighting against fee increases.

A statement was also released from a Facebook page that allegedly belongs to the mother of the nation Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, where she shares that she we be joining the protests and she dares a member of the SAPS to shoot at students with her leading them in their protests.

With six students from UCT already being charged with treason, President Jacob Zuma has come out and admits that this is a national crisis. It’s said that the he will also have a meeting with the Vice Chancellors and SRC from all the respective varsities tomorrow at the Union Buildings. #FeesMustFall.
