Here’s How Much Sport’s, Arts And Culture Relief Fund Applicants Will Receive Per Individual. Sports, Arts And Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa recently had a media briefing and pointed several changes that will be made moving forward with regards to the entertainment industry in Mzansi.
Among those changes it was announced that production companies may now resume with production but under strict supervision and regulation including the sanitization of equipment and shooting area’s before and after working.
“There must be dedicated cleaning staff to sanitise and clean bathroom spaces on regular rotation throughout the day. A daily register of all persons granted access to the set with details of their daily temperatures must be compiled,”
In the briefing Mthethwa mentioned that the maximum amount for the relief fund for Sports, Arts and Culture is Twenty thousand Rand per applicant.
“Media briefing: It is important to emphasise that the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Sport, Arts and Culture sectors is capped at R20,000 per individual applicant.”
During the address the minister also requested that more local content be played on television and radio stations to benefit our local artists with regards to royalties.
“We are pleading for local content to dominate on radio & television. We will be engaging the SABC because it doesn’t help to have Needletime Rights royalties to be benefiting artists overseas but not here at home in South Africa”
A one hundred and fifty million Rand relief fund was allocated to the sector and to date there have been five thousand applicant forms from the Arts and Culture division and three hundred from the Sports division .
