Former #RHOJ Star Naledi Willers Passes Away. The people of Mzansi have been woken up with the sad news of former reality star Naledi Willers’ passing. Condolences have since been pouring in since the news went viral, and social media users are paying their respects. Naledi put up a brave fight but unfortunately lost the lengthy battle to breast cancer.
Naledi has previously shared her story of how she previously beat breast cancer. The brave Real Housewives Of Johannesburg star revealed in two lengthy Instagram posts how she was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer in 2019. This life changing news came at a time when she wrote her last exam for her law degree.
The fear of contracting the Corona virus while on Chemotherapy made her worry twice as more but she continued to fight the war with the dreaded disease, fortunately the lockdown allowed her to deal with her illness in private and she has since come out on the other side.
“On 29 Nov. 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer. This was also the day I wrote the last exam of my law degree… while waiting for the call bearing my results. I spent the past short while posting pictures taken around this time last year so I can show what a difference a year makes… and also to say that through all those changes, I’m still here. Still fighting? Does the fight for survival ever end? I choose to say: still healing. Still improving. Every day I draw another breath… still WINNING” she wrote.
After winning the first battle, Naledi decided to become the “voice of awareness” and empowered women with her story. When the world began the battle against COVID-19, Naledi geared up for her fight against cancer with aggressive chemotherapy and treatment.
During her chemo, Naledi remained positive and opened up about how the process was emotionally taxing but bearable with the support of her loved ones. Naledi began treatment immediately after discovering the tumours. The businesswoman shared how hard it had been to watch her body change so drastically due to the steroids she was on but remained hopeful and took it one day at a time.
The news of her death was broken by popular South African blog The Popcorn Room SA and condolences have been pouring in ever since. Naledi was married to Naked DJ in 2017, however the pair divorced two years later in 2019. Apart from being in the entertainment industry, Naledi was also a qualified chef, lawyer and owner of New Star Studios.
The likes of Somizi, Babalwa Mneno, Mpumi Mopps and more have been posting messages of condolences and we would also like to extend our condolences to all of Naledi’s loved ones.
