South African rapper Emtee has made the decision to distance himself from those around him, including his former associate, Lolli Native, after Lolli’s exit from Emtee Records. Frustrated by what he describes as ingratitude, Emtee opened up about the reasons behind the fallout, claiming he had to fire Lolli.
“I don’t want anyone around me. I’m no longer helping and doing sh*t for people. They are ungrateful. That’s why I fired Lolli, because he is friends with people who want to kill me. Now he is playing victim and everyone is attacking me,” Emtee told TshisaLIVE, expressing his deep frustration.
Emtee emphasised that the decision was driven by a need to protect himself. “This is for my safety and wellbeing. He is not a good person. He has a bad heart. He is jealous. I’m too good a person for all these people. When they had issues, who do they come to? They’ve forgotten,” he continued, revealing how past support he had given seems to have been disregarded.
The rapper went further, questioning Lolli’s loyalty. “This n*gga never loved me in the first place. He’s had the statement for a long time. He just needed a reason. I gave him the contract, but until today he never signed. I’m tired. I will not be bullied by people.”
However, Lolli Native seems to have a different perspective on the situation. Despite Emtee’s strong words, Lolli maintained there is no ill will between them. “During my time at Emtee Records, we accomplished a great deal, and I fully respect his decision regarding my release. I wish Emtee Records and all the artists under its wing nothing but success in the future,” Lolli wrote in a statement.
When asked to respond to Emtee’s claims of danger, Lolli chose to remain positive. “I’m forever grateful to Emtee for the opportunity he gave to me! I have nothing bad or negative to say about him.”
