South African house music icon DJ Tira has become embroiled in controversy after accusations surfaced on social media, alleging that he engaged in inappropriate behaviour with a fellow musician, Luke Ntombela, without her consent. Ntombela claimed that DJ Tira took advantage of her while she was unconscious, sparking outrage and heated discussions online.
In response to the allegations, DJ Tira issued a public statement addressing Ntombela directly, posted on his Instagram page under the caption “Attention: Luke Ntombela.” The statement, drafted by DJ Tira’s legal representatives, refuted the claims made by Ntombela, denouncing them as unfounded, baseless, and defamatory.
According to the statement, DJ Tira’s team asserted that Ntombela’s actions were causing serious harm to his reputation and brand. They highlighted Ntombela’s appearance on Ukhozi FM Radio, where she allegedly made further defamatory statements against DJ Tira, which were deemed devoid of substance and driven by malicious intent.
The statement demanded that Ntombela cease her “unlawful conduct” of spreading false accusations against DJ Tira and issued a demand for a retraction of her statements on social media platforms. Additionally, DJ Tira’s legal team insisted on a public apology and retraction of the radio interview within seven days, warning of potential legal action should Ntombela fail to comply.
