South African DJ and producer Tumelo Mphai, better known as DJ Melzi, is gearing up for an exhilarating world tour that will see him performing across multiple continents. Known for his hit track Ngalo’Tshwala, the artist is set to bring his electrifying beats to fans in Qatar, Dubai, the UK, and the US.
The talented DJ announced his upcoming gigs over the weekend, with a packed schedule that promises to keep the party going from the Middle East to North America. His world tour kicks off on August 23 at Club Reign in Qatar, followed by performances in Dubai on August 24 at Lekki and on August 25 at the prestigious Armani Hotel and Soft Life Party in Burj Khalifa. DJ Melzi will then head to London for a September 1 performance at the Soft Life Party before crossing the Atlantic for gigs in Miami, US, on September 8 at Fort Lauderdale, and in Texas on September 13 at The Icon Restaurant and Lounge in Richardson.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, expressing his excitement about the tour, DJ Melzi shared, “Before, it was more unplanned and was just me going out there to showcase my talent. It is great for me to know this time around I will be touring on demand and not only on my hustle. It felt like a step in the right direction. I always keep in mind the saying, ‘bietjie bietjie maak meer,’ which translates to ‘little little makes more.’”
With months of hard work behind him, DJ Melzi is ready to deliver a powerful experience to his fans. “My fans can expect a great and strong version of myself as I have been working extremely hard the entire year. I will be teasing my new music and sounds. I cannot wait for everyone to see what I have in store for them. Soft Life is set for take-off any time soon. I hope people enjoy this instalment,” he added.
However, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the young star. Just a month ago, DJ Melzi found himself at the center of controversy after rumours circulated on social media suggesting he was the son of IEC commissioner Nomsa Masuku. The rumours started after he posted a picture next to a Mercedes-Benz SUV, leading to baseless speculation. DJ Melzi addressed the situation, saying, “I don’t know the woman. I only got to see her picture on X. I’ve never met or spoken to her. My parents are private people and such things hurt them.”
Despite the challenges, DJ Melzi remains focused on his music and upcoming performances. As he prepares to embark on this world tour, his fans can expect nothing short of an unforgettable musical journey.
