‘I Didn’t Expect It,’ Connie Chiume On Rhythm City Exit! Back in 2016, the actress bid farewell to her popular character Mamokete on the hit etv show. At the time, it seemed as if it was her decision but the actress recently revealed it wasn’t.

During a recent appearance on Trending SA, Connie revealed that she was blindsided when she learnt that her character would be written off and she still doesn’t know why.

“I don’t know. It doesn’t belong to me, it belongs to the owners of the drama. So they decided that Mamokete’s character should be written out and, so it was written out. It’s something that we didn’t expect, even myself,” she said.

“I thought that Mamokete being the woman that she is, who is a community worker, who is mothering almost everyone in the community, you would have thought she could stay longer but she didn’t, so I don’t know”

The star is on to bigger and better things as a cast member of the much anticipated American Marvel movie titled ‘The Black Panther’ set to be released in SA on the 16th of February.

#BlackPanther poster… We hit theaters 2018 Feb 16, but you can check out the new trailer from marvelstudios NOW.
