Dawn Thandeka King Opens Up About Her Battle With Mental Health. Mental wellness is one of the leading causes of suicide and although many don’t speak about it, there are more people who battle with it silently on a daily basis. Celebrities have encouraged social media users and their followers to speak up about their battles with mental health because just like you, they have fought the demon for a long time.

Opening up to the Daily Sun publication, DiepCity actress Thandeka Dawn King shared that she has been battling with depression and has now learned to cope with it. This after sharing a video on social media revealing how emotionally drained she has been feeling.

Many personal and career developments have added on to her emotional stress such as her move from Durban to Johannesburg for work, which has affected her whole entire family as they also had to move with the actress. Another factor contributing to her emotional drainage is the death of her father.

“I lost my dad and that alone stressed me but i have learned to live with depression and i am fine now” she said.

The publication revealed that the actress was recently hospitalized and put on medication to help her rest. Her declining health resulted in her taking a break from shooting with popular Mzansi Magic telenovela DiepCity, claiming that she will be returning to set once she feels better.

The actress shared that her reason behind posting the video was to urge her followers to look after their mental health regularly.

” Sometimes we must motivate and mentally heal people. People know that i always post motivational talks and there are many people who are going through mental issue, I’m an entertainer but i’m also human too and i also go through stuff” Thandeka said to the publication.
