Danny K Thanks Supporters After Wife Lisa Koppel’s Death

South African singer Danny K has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans, friends and everyone who reached out with messages of love, prayers and condolences following the death of his wife, Lisa Koppel.

Lisa, who was 41, passed away following a private battle with colorectal cancer. Her death has left Danny K and their family “shattered”, as they continue to navigate what he described as an unimaginably difficult chapter.

Taking to social media, Danny K thanked those who had stood by the family during their time of grief, acknowledging the overwhelming number of messages they had received.

“I want to thank everyone who has reached out with messages of support, prayers and condolences for Lisa.
There have been more messages than I could possibly respond to individually, but please know how deeply your support has been felt.
Our family is shattered. This extraordinary outpouring has carried us and made us feel less alone through this unimaginably difficult chapter.
In time, we intend to honour Lisa’s life and legacy by raising awareness and supporting others facing this disease and the families beside them.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

Danny K shared the news of his wife’s passing earlier in August, bringing renewed attention to Lisa’s private health battle and the life they shared.

He previously revealed that Lisa had been diagnosed with colon cancer in November 2023. While the family had kept much of her illness private, Danny has since opened up about her experience with the hope of turning their personal loss into a message that could potentially help others.

Danny also shared Lisa’s story to raise awareness about colorectal cancer. He noted that Lisa had hoped to eventually use her own experience to raise awareness and encourage early detection, but sadly, she never got the chance.

“We are sharing Lisa’s diagnosis now for one important reason: awareness,” he wrote.

As Danny and his family mourn Lisa, her story is also becoming a reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection and support for families facing cancer. For Danny, honouring her legacy will now mean carrying forward the message she had hoped to share herself.
