Award-winning social media personality Oratile Masedi, also known as Coachella Randy, is facing backlash after uploading a vlog where he and his friends are seen drinking and having fun. The video sparked outrage online, with many accusing the influencer of promoting dangerous behavior, particularly drinking and driving.

Masedi, who is part of the popular LGBTQIA+ reality show Birth of Stars, took to social media to address the criticism. In a heartfelt video, he explained his actions and issued a public apology to his followers.

“I wanna talk about the vlog I recently uploaded. And I have seen a lot of people are offended about my actions and I take it. There is a time in the vlog where I am giving Hlomani a shot. And just so we are clear, he was not drinking at all until we got to the groove spot,” Masedi clarified.

He continued, acknowledging that while he didn’t intend to encourage harmful behavior, his actions were still wrong. “It is not an excuse, it is wrong, and I take it, and I am learning. Not that I did not know. But I would not do anything intentional to put anyone’s life in danger, regarding drinking and driving,” he said.

Masedi, who closed his social media comments to avoid further conflict, i that he takes full responsibility for his actions. “I take this, I take full responsibility, I was wrong. I do apologise,” he concluded.
