Check Out What SA Celebs Wore At The First South African Amapiano Awards. The first ever annual South African Amapiano Awards took place this past weekend, and it look like the platform made a great first impression. The night saw many in attendance to celebrate one of Amapiano’s most prestigious nights.

The stars came dressed to impress and we saw a few fashion favourites on the red carpet. The red carpet duties were handled by 5FM lunch time host Zanele Potelwa who also looked absolutely stunning. The night hosted by Moshe Ndiki and Zola Mhlongo saw many Amapiano favourites get the recognition they deserve for their hard work within the Amapiano industry.

The likes of Major League, Mpura, DBN GOGO, Kamo Mphela and more walked away with awards on the night and fans also got to experience a lit performance from the genres very own prized gem Kamo Mphela, Boohle who also slayed her performance, Sir, Nhlanhla Nciza and more.

The platform that was launched right in the midst of a pandemic claims that in a time where artists have struggled to work, it is important to uplift them through this movement. The awards show claims to be made for the people by the people, as winners are voted for by the people themselves. Artists will won a R10 000 cash for each winning category while Song of the Year will took home a cool cash prize of 50 000 rands.

Voters can also had a chance to win up to 100 000 worth of prizes for voting for their favourite nominees and we think it’s safe to say that the night was a total success and definitely a night to remember. Th ceremony also paid tribute to Amapiano’s fallen heros Killer Kau, Mpura, Khanya “The Voice” Hadebe , Thando Tot and TD.

These are a few of our favourite style moments of the night.
