The Zee Nation Festival turned the Nasrec Expo Centre into a dazzling celebration on Saturday, 9 August, as fans and celebrities came together to honour Women’s Day in true Mzansi style. From midday until the early hours of 2am, the venue was buzzing with fashion, music, and pure energy. The event featured a star-studded lineup, including Lady Du, Mawhoo, Sjava, Big Zulu, and Nandi Nakai, who all brought their A-game to the stage.
The dress code was far from ordinary. DJ Zinhle, the host and founder of Zee Nation, had set three exciting fashion themes for the night: Into the Wild, Pink, and Carnival. And trust Mzansi’s celebs to take those themes and run with them. The result? A night filled with jaw-dropping, camera-ready looks that had the crowd talking.
DJ Zinhle led the charge with multiple standout outfits. For her first look, she rocked a hot pink leather bra top with a matching lace-up mini skirt and a long coat in the same bold shade. Black knee-high boots, a black cowboy hat, layered silver necklaces, and statement earrings completed her striking ensemble.
Later, she switched it up with a shiny burgundy cropped biker jacket featuring studded details, paired with matching short shorts. She styled it with tall white cowboy boots, chic white gloves with cutout fingers, sleek straight hair, and silver accessories — the very definition of bold glamour.
Moozlie, music artist and creative director for ERA, proved she wasn’t holding back either. One of her show-stopping looks was an elaborate turquoise feathered carnival costume, complete with a jeweled bra, matching bottoms, giant feather wings, a dramatic feathered headpiece, and sparkling fringe details. Silver platform heels and statement jewellery made sure all eyes stayed on her.
Her second look was just as breathtaking — a peacock-feather costume with a black and metallic gray corset-style top, matching shorts, thigh-high lace-up boots, and a regal peacock feather train.
Singer Thabsie brought a touch of pink magic, wearing a voluminous bright pink faux fur coat over a delicate beaded top in a soft, pale shade. Her matching pink pants featured a unique bandana print, and she topped the look with a wide-brimmed, embellished pink hat and crisp white boots.
Nkosazana Daughter embraced a modern western vibe, pairing a brown cowboy hat with a brown leather-like top and matching cowboy-style pants. Her braided hair and earthy tones gave her a look that was both fierce and stylish.
From feathers and fringe to fur and leather, the Zee Nation Festival was a feast for the eyes and ears. Celebs didn’t just show up — they showed out, turning the Women’s Day celebration into a runway-meets-concert experience Mzansi won’t forget anytime soon.
