Bujy Bikwa Reveals How Assaulting Boity Has Affected Him. The television personality and podcaster made headlines in 2021 after getting involved in an altercation with Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo. The incident topped trending lists.
Back in September of 2021, Boity and Bujy made headlines and trended on social media for getting involved in a fight at the Courtyard Hotel, Midrand. According to witnesses, Boity and Bujy had been coversating about matters of spirituality, callings and ancestral worship whilst consuming alcohol. For some reason the two disagreed on something that led at Bujy getting angry and then throwing a glass to Boity leaving her scarred. It is said Bujy threw the glass at her to see if her ancestors would protect her. Following the fight Bujy had been taken into custody and charged with assault and intent to cause grievous bodily damage.
There had been a settlement for the assault case in which Boity demanded an amount of R12 million. Bujy had also counter sued Boity for assault, saying that Boity had verbally abused him and he suffered physical pain whilst in police custody.
Since the awful ordeal it is reported that Bujy Biwkwa has not been able to make a living because of allegedly being blackballed in the entertainment industry. No one reportedly wants to work with him because of his assault on Boity. This has resulted in his prospects of employment. Bujy had also faced admonishment and condemnation by tweeps for laying his hands on a woman, with some defending Bujy saying that there were two sides to the story.
Bujy recently took to his Twitter to lament the treatment he had been getting from people in the entertainment industry and also to clear his name saying that it is not in his character to just physically attack anyone as he was provoked. “At what point do you think I would effortlessly go out of my way to attack any human being? What do I gain? I chose not to defend my self publicly cause I respect the law and I fully understand what happened that night. I am a very loving person and extremely kind,” Bujy tweeted.
Speaking to Zimoja, the 35 year old revealed how the assault adversely affected him saying, “I have suffered tremendously, financially, and personally I am drained.” There have been mixed reactions by tweeps to the utterances he has made and tweet he posted.
