Buhlebendalo Mda and Botshelo Mondi Tie the Knot

South African singer and media personality Buhlebendalo Mda-Mondi and her partner, Botshelo Mondi-Mda, have officially entered a new chapter together after celebrating their love with a series of beautiful wedding festivities.

The couple first marked their union with an intimate signing ceremony on September 18, before continuing with their traditional wedding celebrations. The festivities took place at their respective homes in Protea Glen, Soweto, on September 26 and Thabane, Rustenburg, on October 3.

Following the celebrations, Buhlebendalo and Botshelo opened up about the special moments they shared with their loved ones. In a heartfelt message, the newlyweds described the celebrations as a dream that had finally become a reality.

They shared, “26th September 2026 and 03rd October 2026, the moon was full, mountains overlaped and the sky cried in jubilation.

Our love was steady and it manifested into a dream undeniable. Two families from two different provinces collided. We cried, we danced, we laughed so loud that the God of our ancestors smiled. We are still buzzing from the euphoria of seeing our love play out in real time.

Today we are Asimanye and Peo-entle. We went from BeesOntheCouch to MrsSoft.

Now the journey begins, as we plant the seed of unity in the Mondi-Mda Clan.”

According to TshisaLIVE, the couple’s love story goes back to 2009 when they first met at Vaal University of Technology. At the time, Botshelo was studying fine art, while Buhlebendalo was building her career with The Soil. The pair remained friends for several years before their relationship eventually became romantic in 2019.

Their wedding celebrations are also the culmination of a promise that began six years ago in a private setting surrounded by close friends. Botshelo proposed to Buhlebendalo in 2020 while directing the Mdali music video. After filming the final scene, cast members presented small handwritten messages, with the final message asking the singer to marry him.

Buhlebendalo later returned the gesture by proposing to Botshelo at his birthday dinner that same year.

Now officially married, the couple is looking forward to building their future together and growing old side by side.
