As we all know award winning a Capella group The Soil recently announced that they’re looking for a new member to stand in for their female vocalist Buhle Mda.

Taking to their Facebook page the group shared that Mda will be taking a break from the group to pursuit her ancestral calling.

A number of fans expressed their disappointment and the group reassured them that Buhle will soon return to serenade them as usual.

In a recent interview with Mo Flava, Buhle shares that her decision was not something she made over night and it wasn’t just for the sake of it. She adds that it took a lot of thinking and time to ensure that she’s making the right decision.

“It’s not something that I just woke up and decided to do, it’s been a constant thing that’s been on my mind and I would say now it’s long overdue. So I have to take on this journey in order for me to be a better and a new me,” she said.

Buhle also took the time to add that she appreciates all the school girls that have been auditioning but shares that the spot is for ladies that are between the ages of 19 and 34.

If you’d like to be Buhle’s temporary replacement check out The Soil’s Facebook page on more info on how to audition.
