American rapper Marco Anthony Archer, popularly known as Phora, has sparked excitement among fans after hinting at a possible visit to South Africa. Phora, who signed a major deal with Warner Bros. Records in 2017, has released 11 albums, many of which draw from his personal struggles with depression. His hits include Therapy, Sincerely Yours, Nights Like These, and Yours Truly Forever, which peaked at 44 on the Billboard 200.
Taking to social media, Phora revealed that he will be touring soon and expressed his desire to visit South African cities, tweeting, “South Africa, see you sooooon!!!” He also hinted at possible stops in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town, writing, “JoBurg > Durban > Cape Town, let’s pray this goes through.”
Despite some South Africans not recognising him in the comments, Phora called on his dedicated “Yours Truly” fanbase to spread the word. Fans eagerly responded, with one saying, “We all know you, only people who grew up in rural areas don’t know you, just come, we will fill the venue.” Another added, “I know you, bra, and you’re more than welcome to SA. We’re waiting for you.”
With Phora working on bringing his music to South Africa, fans are already gearing up for what could be an exciting tour.
