South African hip hop fans are in for an emotional experience as Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’ voice returns posthumously in K.O’s new single, “King Size.” According to IOL, the track not only marks an exciting collaboration but also serves as a powerful tribute to AKA’s impact on the local music scene. AKA was tragically shot and killed in Durban last February, leaving behind a legacy that fans and fellow artists alike continue to celebrate.

In a statement, K.O shared that the single is more than a musical release, saying, “‘King Size’ is more than just a collaboration, it is a tribute to AKA’s life and legacy, keeping his voice alive for fans.”

The track showcases the mutual respect and undeniable influence both artists had on the genre. “Known as trailblazers in the South African hip hop scene, K.O and AKA have consistently dominated the genre, both acclaimed for their artistry and influence that have reshaped the local music scene,” the statement continued.

Reflecting on the significance of the release, K.O shared his feelings about the journey he and AKA shared in the industry. “This release is like the last dance,” he said. “If you’ve followed our journey, you know the competitive spirit that existed between us. This is a record I’ve held on to and now feels like the perfect time to release it as a farewell to a genius, a giant, a king and someone who inspired me both as an artist and a fan.”

“King Size” will be part of K.O’s upcoming album, I Think You Spoke Too Soon, promising fans one final, unforgettable collaboration between two South African hip hop icons
