Bonang Matheba Gifts Tyla Flowers After Her Big SAMA Win

South African television presenter, radio personality, author and entrepreneur Bonang Matheba has shown some love to Grammy-winning pop star Tyla following her major achievement at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

Bonang surprised Tyla with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of BNG, celebrating the young star after she received the International Achievement Award at the SAMAs.

Bonang shared the sweet moment on her Instagram story, showing Tyla receiving the bouquet. Clearly touched by the thoughtful gesture, Tyla expressed her gratitude to Bonang in the video.

“Thank you Bonang Girl! Girl you deserve the flowers. Thank you so much, you deserve all the flowers. Wait for yours.”

Bonang, who has openly shown her admiration for Tyla, also shared the moment with her followers and made it clear that the flowers were a small gesture of appreciation for the star.

She captioned the video, “…we brought some goodies for our GIRL! (I love her please)”

The sweet exchange came shortly after Tyla’s impressive achievement at the SAMAs, where she was honoured with the International Achievement Award for her growing global impact and success in music.

Bonang was not only there to celebrate Tyla but also played a special role in the ceremony. She presented the AfriPure International Achievement Award to Tyla on stage, making the moment even more memorable.

Speaking to News24, Bonang also opened up about returning to the SAMAs stage after several years and how meaningful it was for her to support South African music and artists.

“It felt good to be on the SAMAs stage after so many years. It was great. I’m a big lover of South African music. I support South African artists, and I’m a proud South African. At any time when I am called upon to support or shine a light on our county, it’s a true honour,” she said.

Bonang also praised Tyla for the example she continues to set, particularly for women and young people watching her journey.

“Tyla has made us proud. We need to remind her how much we love her, just what a perfect example she has been to young women, old women, all women.”
