Liesl Laurie is looking back on one of the most memorable moments of her life—being crowned Miss South Africa 2015. On March 29, 2015, the Eldorado Park-born beauty queen took the crown, and her life changed forever.
Celebrating the milestone on social media, Liesl shared a heartfelt reflection on what the title meant to her.
“10 years. On 29 March 2015, Liesl Laurie from Eldorado Park was crowned Miss South Africa. My life changed forever. All my ouma’s sacrifices paid off. All my mom’s prayers were answered. All my hard work finally paid off. God granted me the opportunity of a lifetime—without His grace, I would not have made it to that stage. A blessing. An honour. A true Cinderella story…” she wrote.
She also expressed her gratitude to photographer Kevin Mark Pass for capturing the special moment and thanked Glamfuel for beautifully documenting her journey over the years.
After winning Miss South Africa, Liesl went on to represent her country at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China, on December 19, 2015. Her journey continues to inspire many, and her followers still cherish the moment she won the crown.
