Former ‘Generations’ actor Anga Makubalo will star in e.tv’s new drama series ‘Z’bondiwe’ as from next month.
Anga, who is also a singer by the name of NaakMusiQ, was fired last year, together with 15 other ‘Generations’ cast members, after they went on strike over contractual matters.
Most of the fired ‘Generations’ cast members have bounced back by landing themselves roles in various shows, especially shows from e.tv.
‘Z’bondiwe’ is a crime drama series that’s not for fainthearted, as described by the channel. The first episode will air on Tuesday, 12 May at 9:30PM.
The series is a combination of a love story and crime drama, and described as “a messy, dangerous, gangster love story”.
Anga will play Ntando, a young lawyer who gets an offer at the biggest law firm in Johannesburg. Leaving Cape Town, Ntando moves with his girlfriend Roxane (played by Zola Nombona) whose murderous boyfriend (played by Mbulelo Grootboom) is the leader of the most notorious gang in Jo’burg – The Vutha Boys.
Killer is obsessed with Roxanne and he kidnaps her as soon as she arrives in Joburg. Ntando is forced to join a rival gang called the Mambas, to try and save the love of his life.
SA most loved TV gangster, Israel Makoe, will also be part of this intriguing drama series, in the role of a thug called Jakes Masilo.
