Afrosoul Singer Berita Breaks Her Silence On Her Estranged Marriage To Nota Baloyi. Berita has been on the receiving end of backlash due to her estranged husband Nota Baloyi’s series of outbursts and attacks on social media and in interviews.
The singer found herself having to defend her character on twitter and distance herself from Nota’s remarks. In a series of tweets, Berita made some revelations about her marriage to Nota which seem to have come with no surprise to social media considering how he conducts interviews. Nota’s comments on social media influencer Mihlali Ndmase had tweeps up in arms calling him out for objectifying the influencer.
In her statement, Berita revealed she had kept quiet because family members were involved. She also revealed she is no longer together with Nota tweeting, “I am no longer married to Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi. I left our marital home on Thursday the 13 of January 2022. As it stands we are currently separated.“
She went on to say that she did not condone Nota’s actions and that he is “extremely irresponsible, reckless and unruly” and does not listen to anyone. Berita added that she could not babysit a grown man. She also apologized to Mihlali for having been “ripped apart and objectified publicly” by her estranged husband. She admitted to missing “big red flags” in Nota.
“The bullying and disgrace I have faced publicly and privately is painful. This man’s irrational behaviour is beyond me. I am a very reasonable person. I will be the first to admit. I missed very big red flags. The day I decided to leave my marriage. Is the day I had to choose between being married and being alive,” Berita said.
She ended off by requesting for Nota to get help for his mental health. “My one request is that Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi needs help with his mental health. I tried my best whilst I was in his life. I tried to also plead with his family about this. He is a really good man, sometimes he means well. He needs help,” she concluded.
