SA Celebs Who Have Been Fired From Their Jobs In 2021 (Part1). A number of Mzansi’s celebrities have been shown the door by their employers be it talent, radio presenters or TV presenter. This has happened to a few celebs after they were involved in salacious scandals that proved far detrimental tho their career than they had anticipated.
While some are fired for reasons that may be a bit tricky to understand, others are rightfully fired and go on to be cancelled on social media because their scandals were far too juicy to ignore. No matter the reason may be, one thing’s for sure, their sacking definitely got tongues wagging in Mzansi and we are still shook.
DJ Fresh & Euphonik
DJ Fresh and Euphonik were both released from their contracts with Primedia effective immediately this year in February. This after a Twitter user took to the social platform to tell her rape story, where she accused the duo of drugging her and taking advantage of her. While the DJs refuted the allegations, the last straw came after more women came forward and accused DJ Fresh of rape.
TBO Touch
After serving as CEO since 2019 at Soweto TV, former Metro FM presenter Tbo Touch was removed from his position, as it was alleged that he, along with the head of channel, Nokuthula Zulu, had been underpaying their employees
Robert Marawa
The news of Marawa’s “departure” was broken in July with a statement by the SABC that Marawa was parting ways with the public broadcaster. Later on the week, Marawa did not hesitate to share a screenshot of the “SMS” he said was the mode of communication he was let go in.
Somizi
In a released statement, Mnet said that they have et go Somizi from Idols South Africa as a judge following the abuse allegations that have been levelled against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung during their marriage.
Unathi
Unathi has been fired “effective immediately” from the Kaya FM radio station following a verbal conflict that Nkayi had with Sizwe Dhlomo. Unathi claimed that Dhlomo verbally and emotionally abused her while yelling aggressively at her during the altercation and demanded disciplinary action be taken against him. After obtaining supporting evidence in the form of recordings, it was found that Unathi’s claims were false and she was eventually fired from the station.
