Will DJ Sbu Get Suspended From Metro FM?

Rumour has it that DJ Sbu maybe suspended from Metro FM after he failed to turn up to the station to fill in for Tbo Touch on the Touchdown Drive this past weekend.

This resulted in Siphokazi January filling for Sbu for an housr before the producer of the show took over from her. Sbu basically defied the rules of the radio station so that he could be able to advertise his energy drink MoFaya at the Metro FM Awards.

Sbu’s actions apparently left Happy Ngidi, the station’s publicity manager very angry with the radio personality and was quoted telling Sowetan newspaper that “there would be consequences because what Sbu did was not allowed and not part of the brief”.

DRUM magazine reached out to the spokesperson of the SABC Kaizer Kganyago and he claims that he knows nothing about the indecent in question or about DJ Sbu being suspended.

“I don’t know what you are talking about, I’m only hearing that from you.”

DJ Sbu has not come out to talk about the whole situation. Now considering how ‘successful’ MoFaya has been, do you think that Sbu’s decision of promoting his energy drink over being at the station was a wise one?
