Watch! Thuso Mbedu Surprises Her Loved Ones With An Emotional Visit Back Home. Many Mzansi celebs have gone overseas to further their careers and have been making the country proud. The likes of Nomzamo Mbatha, Bonang Matheba and more have grown their craft and are now establishing a market in America and now Thuso Mbedu is also flying the flag high with her award winning international acting career.
Thuso has been in the United States while shooting the award winning Barry Jenkins limited series The Underground Railroad, and now she is preparing for another role in a Hollywood production alongside the likes of Viola Davis and other major Hollywood stars.
Due to Thuso being a booked and busy girl, she has had little time with her family and friends back in Mzansi so a surprise visit was definitely long overdue. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a tear jerking video of her visit back home in South Africa last week where she surprised a few special people.
Mbedu shared that with some amazing assistance, she managed to surprise a couple of good friend including actress Makgotso M who recently celebrated her birthday. In the video we see Makgotso screaming and jumping to hug Thuso, so we know that they definitely missed each other.
“I was able to successfully surprise my family ??? @vuyi7 came up with very arb reasons as to why she would rock up at their homes at 5/6 in the morning ???
1. @makgotsom1 was told there was a package that would be delivered by Vuyi but could only be done very early as her day was super busy. (Today, 05 October is her 30th birthday??? send her some love ❤️)” she wrote.
The actress also surprised her niece who first thought she was getting a waffle maker and also her sister Noma Mbedu, who threw a rock and kicked her out of shock. Each moment was filled with emotion, laughter and hugs but her sister was so happy she literally cried tears.
“4. My niece was told Vuyi was coming to spend the weekend baking with her because they haven’t seen each other in a while. When told to guess what her surprise is, homie guessed it was a waffle maker ? (we bought one the next day) She spent the rest of the day sneaking looks at me until she finally whispered “I don’t know if I’m dreaming or not”
5. My sister @noma.mbedu was told she’d have a more flexi weekend as Vuyi would be there to help with Zen. Upon watching back the video homegirl claimed she doesn’t recall throwing a stone at me and fly kicking me” she wrote.
Thuso shared how sad she was that she couldn’t visit all of her friends because there are so many but, she still has a lot of love for them and looks forward to the day they reunite. Is someone chopping onions because we are definitely shedding a few tears over this.
