Lerai Rakoditsoe Scores A Major Hosting Gig With Popular International Kids Channel. Congratulations are in order for South African Social media influencer and presenter Lerai Rakoditsoe who recently made history with her latest career move.The 18-year-old has now joined Nickelodeon Africa as a presenter for a new music show called, ‘NickMusic’. This is a major historical move as this makes her the first African to join the channel. 

The show hosted by Lerai is aimed at kids and parents to enjoy after school. With a premier date of May 17th, the 30-minute show will put the spotlight on music from African artists all over the world. It will broadcast Monday to Friday on NickToons at 16.25pm.

Taking to social media, the young talent shared how this is so exciting for her especially because she grew up watching the channel and she has understood the importance of having someone relatable to represent the youth on television and the programming that they engage with.

“I am excited to be part of the @nickelodeon_africa family and to be the first young African host for the channel. Having grown up watching the channel myself, I know how important it is for a young mind to to see someone like themselves on screen” she wrote.

She continued to elaborate on the importance of representation and her being selected as the first ever local host is beyond mind blowing for her. Rakoditsoe continued to express her gratitude to the platform for trusting her with such a huge role and she is super excited to begin the journey. Her flooded her post with congratulatory messages, wishing her all the best for her new career milestone.
