Mother In-Law Changes Baby’s Name During Mother’s Health Battle. Its normal for family relatives to want to be hands on with a new baby in the family, which can often cause a lot of tension. New mothers are to often faced with the challenge of having to draw the line when it comes to over bearing in-laws making decision on your behalf when it comes to parenting.
After a new mother woke up from having a C-Section induced coma, she was baffled to learn that her husband had filled in their new baby’s birth certificate without her. According to the baby daddy, he was pressured by his mother to go against his wife, and that’s not all. The woman found that the mother in-law insisted that her grandchild’s name be changed against the mothers will.
The mother of the new born believes that when she was unconscious, her mother-in-law convinced her husband to change the way their baby’s name is spelt on the birth certificate.
“She tried to convince him to give our son a first name that I very much hated, saying that I would get mad, but get over it. My husband thought changing his first name was too much, but gave in to spelling his middle name the way his mum wanted” she said.
As expected, the mother was in utter shock and anger upon finding out that her husband had turned on her and supported his mother by changing the spelling on the name on the birth certificate, while she was unconscious after giving birth
She thinks her mother-in-law influenced her husband to do this by guilt-tripping him, as she describes her mother-in-law as manipulative. It was more of a confirmation that she was responsible for the decision after she sent a Christmas card with the child’s name spelled wrong.
Even though her husband said that he regretted his actions as soon as the certificate and admitted that he was afraid to tell his wife what happened. This is of course no excuse valid enough to explain what had happened and is still furious about it even after all these years.
