MacG Releases Official Statement Regarding Transphobic & Homophobic Comments On His Podcast. It ended in tears for celebrity podcaster and YouTuber MacG and his wing man Sol Phenduka, after some rather hectic comments and jokes were made at the expense of the LGBTQI community.
Recently, MacG found himself trending for at least 48 hour on twitter after an episode of the podcast featuring Sol rubbed members of the gay community and everyone in general the wrong way.
The YouTuber not only used offensive/derogatory terminology to address transgender men and women such as “Shemale”, but they also called out a few celebrities for their public scandals involving sexual relation’s with transgender women referring to them as ” chicks with d*cks”.
Needless to say, the YouTuber had everybody outraged to the point of losing his ‘Old Mutual’ sponsor, sighting that MacG’s comments were not only transphobic and homophobic but also ignorant.
MacG has since regrouped himself and is now ready to face the music. In a public statement released today, the Podcast And Chill Network has released a public statement of apology on twitter.
According to the letter, the show’s main aim was to entertain viewers rather than offend them and for that they would like to apologise for their poor judgment to the public, more especially the LGBTQI community.
The statement further claims that the team is well aware of the scrutiny and discrimination that the LGBTQI community faces on the daily and swear to do better. According the team they have used this as a teachable moment and will use their influence to do better.
“Out of the experience we have been able to learn and educate ourselves on social issues and to know where we must draw the line” the statement reads.
