‘I was told I wasn’t black enough,’ Says Skeem Saam’s Cedric Fourie! It hasn’t been an easy journey for the 27 year old star who often faced rejection when auditioning for black men roles because he apparently didn’t fit the profile.

Cedric recently opened up about the struggle and how he overcame it to become a household name on Skeem Saam. “I got to a point where I almost felt like I was wasting my time when auditioning for a black male role. How could I be told that I wasn’t black enough just because I am few shades lighter than what Europeans have tagged as black?,” he said.

Cedric says he had to get over it when he got the Skeem Samm role. “I grabbed it with both hands. I dropped everything and gave it my all,” he said.
