“I’ve Never Gotten Anywhere Based On My Looks,” Says Zizo Tshwete! The gorgeous media personality career has been consistent since she won Miss SA Teen all those many years ago and she says it’s all hard work.

Speaking to The Trending SA hosts, Zizo shared that despite having had her start in by winning a beauty contest, she has had to work hard to make herself a household name.

“I believe that my opinion on things were strong enough to put me in good stead . I’ve never gotten anywhere based on what I look like,” she said.

Zizo says if anything when she did Miss Teen SA her look wasn’t necessarily considered the ‘beauty look’. “Even in Miss Teen, I was different in every sense of how you imagine a beauty queen to be like. I had dreadlocks, I spoke in vernacular and I really just to be as authentic as I could be.”

The natural beauty also clarified on the misconception that she’s against the ‘glammed up celebs’.

“Often it is perceived as that but it was never like that. Going into it the intention was just let’s just celebrate diversity and have the opportunity to represent the alternative. I don’t knock people off who enjoy fashion, that’s their choice.”
