When it comes to competition and industry wars, it seems that the entertainment industry is not the only place where it’s a battle to make it and to stand out from the rest.
We’ve often seen a number of celebrities going bankrupt or leaving their families to rely on donations after their death because of the poor financial decisions they tend to make.
Speaking on Power FM on Monday, Itumeleng Khune shares that a lot of soccer players in our country face the problem of being overly competitive and always being worried about what the next player is doing.
“The problem with us footballers, we look at what the next person has and we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure. You see Itumeleng Khune driving this car. Yes, you don’t know what Itumeleng Khune earns, and you know what you earn, you know what you can afford but you just take a rope and you tie yourself and you wanna compete with Itumeleng Khune. Compete with Itumeleng Khune on the field to win the number one… Don’t compete with him with material things…”
Khune then adds: “That’s the problem we’re facing in the country, not only with footballers but random people out there. They like to see someone out there doing something and they wanna do it better than them and it’s not the right time for them to do it.”
Truth is, we live in a very superficial world and the sooner people learn to deal with what they have, the better.
