Even though Generations: The Legacy may still have one or two actors from Generations it will definitely never be the same.
Creator of the drama, Mfundi Vundla recently spoke to Times Live about the future of the storyline and where the soapie is headed. In the interview he revealed that he will be bringing back some of the big characters from the original Generations, one in particular being the villain we all love, Jack Mabaso.
This comes after the production team announced that a number of their actors will be leaving the show- the likes of Vuyo Dabula who plays the role of Gadaffi and bubbly Denise Zimba who plays Mary.
“We are bringing in interesting characters, big characters. We’ll bring back people like Jack Mabaso because we are in a life or death struggle with our competitors. We just got ourselves a striker. That will mean we’ll score more goals.”
Mfundi went on to admit that he’s a little intimidated about the introduction of new drama series like Gold Diggers that will be on eTV soon and Mzansi Magic’s The Road, which will be playing in the same time slot as Generations: The Legacy.
“There’s nothing to panic about. We still have good numbers. Generations makes nice money for the SABC. It dominates 8pm,” he said.
Even with all his concerns Mfundi remains confident that Generations will stay in it’s number one spot. We just can’t wait to have Jack back!
