Media personality and content creator Lasizwe Dambuza has taken to X to share his frustration over his experience with Netstar, explaining that he has allegedly struggled to cancel his account despite receiving confirmation that the cancellation had been processed.

Lasizwe opened up about the matter in a post on the social media platform, where he described his attempts to stop the debit orders and asked other users whether they had experienced similar situations.

Netstar is a South African vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle recovery and fleet management company that was founded in 1994.

In his post, Lasizwe explained that he had made several attempts to cancel his account over the years. However, he claimed that the debit orders continued despite his efforts.

🚨BE CAREFUL WITH NETSTAR! Imagine having to CLOSE your entire bank account just to stop a company from taking your money. 😭💔 This is the point Netstar has pushed me to! For YEARS, I’ve been trying to cancel my account. I’ve sent countless emails, called their call centre repeatedly, and even received confirmation that my account was CANCELLED. But guess what? THE DEBIT ORDERS CONTINUE! I block the debit order, and somehow another one appears under a different name. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED?! I’m genuinely exhausted. Years of money being deducted for a service I’ve repeatedly asked to cancel. Has anyone else experienced this with @NetstarSA , or am I the only one? PLEASE share your experience.

“BE CAREFUL WITH NETSTAR!
Imagine having to CLOSE your entire bank account just to stop a company from taking your money.
This is the point Netstar has pushed me to! For YEARS, l’ve been trying to cancel my account.

Years of money being deducted for a service l’ve repeatedly asked to cancel. Has anyone else experienced this with @NetstarSA, or am I the only one? PLEASE share your experience.”

Following his post, several X users joined the conversation, with some sharing their own experiences and others asking questions about his decision to cancel the service.

One user, @NormaMlowtywah, responded to Lasizwe, writing, “Yep!I am dealing with the same issue with them!”

Another user, @Iced_juudy, expressed concern about the situation and asked Lasizwe what had prompted him to cancel his services.

“Yoh, this is scary. What made you cancel their services? Asking because i am currently with them.@NetstarSA this is fraud and very unprofessional. If i decide to nolonger use your services the same will happen to me??”

Lasizwe responded by explaining why he had decided to end his contract with the company.

“I sold my car and my contract with them had expired.”

Another X user, @ngongoma_lihle, also shared their opinion, writing, “Yes please avoid @NetstarSA they like doing this. You will call them and complain a thousand times but still nothing.”

Responding to the comments, Lasizwe added, “It seems like this is a normal thing they do.”

The discussion continued as social media users shared their thoughts on Lasizwe’s post and his account of the situation. His post also prompted questions from customers about cancelling services and ensuring that debit orders are stopped once an account has been cancelled.

Lasizwe’s comments reflect his personal experience with the matter, while other users used the opportunity to share their own accounts and concerns on the platform.
