Award-winning TV and radio host Zanele Potelwa has shared heartfelt words of admiration for rapper and entertainer Cassper Nyovest after the pair joined forces to host the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA).

Potelwa took to social media to share a collection of photos capturing special moments from the prestigious awards ceremony, including images of herself and Cassper Nyovest on stage and behind the scenes. While the occasion marked another major milestone in Potelwa’s career, it was also a memorable moment for Cassper, who took on hosting duties at the SAMAs for the first time.

Reflecting on the experience, Potelwa had nothing but praise for her co-host, describing him as an exceptional entertainer and revealing just how much she appreciated working alongside him.

She wrote, “To my Amazing #SAMA32 Chomi!!!! My Incredible Fellow Host Let me tell you something @casspernyovest – you were one of the reasons I understood why God made me wait to host at the @thesamas_ … He knew it would be BEST doing it alongside an international superstar!!!! A comedic King!!

Potelwa’s glowing tribute reflects the chemistry and energy the two brought to the SAMA stage. Her comments also highlight the preparation, confidence and entertainment value she believes Cassper brought to the role.

And she was certainly not alone in her assessment.

Cassper Nyovest’s fans also took to social media to share their thoughts on his first hosting experience. Many praised his natural ability to command a stage, while acknowledging that hosting is a skill that can become even stronger with experience.

@KZN_RSA commented, “You did a steller job, buddy. You were exceptional. Shout out to you. I was waiting for a Hip-Hop category, only to find out it was announced a day before. But other than that, you were amazing my brother. Salute.”

Another social media user, @onthatiler11895, highlighted Cassper’s natural entertainment abilities, writing, “Cassper Nyovest is definitely not a terrible host at all, he’s a natural entertainer with great stage presence. Sure, hosting takes practice, but the potential is definitely there. I’d love to see him get another shot at doing this.”

Cassper himself appeared to enjoy every moment of the experience. Taking to X after the awards, the rapper admitted that while everything may not have gone perfectly, he had an unforgettable time hosting the ceremony.

Cassper Nyovest wrote, “Hahaha man I had sooo much fun tonight !!! It wasn’t perfect but man it was an amazing experience!!! Thank you so much for tuning in !!! Thank you for the love !!! I appreciate it soo much!!! Your comments mean everything!!!”

With Potelwa already calling for a SAMA 33 reunion, it seems the duo may have left audiences wanting more. Whether or not the two return to the SAMA stage together, their first hosting collaboration clearly made an impression — and for Potelwa, it was an experience she says she will remember for years to come.
