Tyla Joins Shakira on Stage for Surprise ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ Performance in Brooklyn

South African pop sensation Tyla gave fans an unforgettable surprise when she joined global music icon Shakira on stage during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

The exciting moment happened on Monday, July 20, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where Shakira delivered a star-studded show filled with incredible performances and surprise appearances. The global superstar had just made history with her performance at the first FIFA World Cup halftime show on Sunday, July 19, but she was clearly not done entertaining her fans.

Shakira brought the stadium energy to the Brooklyn arena for a stellar night that also featured surprise guests Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. However, one of the night’s biggest surprises came when Tyla stepped onto the stage to perform Shakira’s global hit, “Hips Don’t Lie.”

The South African star looked right at home alongside Shakira as the two performers sang and danced their way through the energetic performance. Walking along a catwalk that extended from the stage towards the centre of the arena, Tyla wearing a turquoise dress with fringes that complemented Shakira’s gold outfit and  didn’t miss a step of the choreography.

Tyla confidently moved alongside Shakira while  dancers performed behind them, creating a spectacular moment that had fans talking online.

Videos shared on social media captured the chemistry between the two superstars as they danced together on stage. Oprah Daily also posted a video of the performance, giving fans a glimpse of the exciting collaboration.

South African celebrities were quick to react to the special moment, with Minnie Dlamini commenting with fire emojis.

Actress Zenande Mfenyana also shared her thoughts, writing, “Tyla is too cute.”

Mona Monyane praised the young star’s confidence, commenting, “Tyla is absolutely the girl she knows she thinks she is.”

Another fan added, “Tyla’s confidence level should be studied!!!”
