South African Amapiano sensation Zee Nxumalo continues to make waves in the music industry as she earns recognition at the upcoming Basadi in Music Awards.

The 5th annual Basadi in Music Awards will take place over two nights on August 7 and August 8, 2026. The event will be hosted at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg, with the Vanguard Circle Awards taking place on the first night and the Main Awards on the second night.

“Zandile ‘Zee’ Nxumalo’s journey started with covers that eventually led to Amapiano fans calling for her to create her own sound.
“Making covers was the easiest part of my career,” Nxumalo says in an interview with FORBES AFRICA. “It did not intimidate me. But creating my own sound, the ‘Zee’ sound, has been the most fun.”
Her journey is a testament to hard work, growth, and staying true to her artistic vision. From capturing audiences with cover songs to becoming one of Amapiano’s most recognisable voices, Zee Nxumalo continues to prove that she is a force to be reckoned with.
