South African actress Shalate Sekhabi and Wanda Zuma have tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony. The couple, who are both known for their roles on House of Zwide, celebrated their special day over the weekend.
The actress shared pictures from the ceremony on her Instagram stories, giving fans a glimpse into the beautiful celebration. The bride is wearing a traditional black and white patterned dress with intricate beadwork and layered textures that highlight cultural design. She completes the look with a bold beaded necklace and an elaborate headpiece that adds elegance and royalty.
The groom is dressed in a black traditional outfit with white patterned detailing that matches the bride’s attire. He finishes his look with a fur-adorned headpiece and holds a ceremonial stick, giving him a regal and cultural presence.
The talented star revealed that she got engaged in October 2025 to her long-term boyfriend and former co-star, Wanda Zuma. Their relationship has grown over time, with the actress previously opening up about their love story.
In February, speaking to True Love Magazine, Shalate shared insights into her romantic journey and what makes her relationship so special. She explained that their love story developed naturally because they had already spent a lot of time together before officially dating.
Shalate reflected on the moment she realised Wanda was the one for her. She said, “I think I felt that pretty soon into us making things official and dating.” For her, the connection felt right from early on, and there was a strong sense of certainty about their future together.
The actress also spoke about how she approaches relationships with intention. She believes that love has different stages, and she is not in a hurry to rush into the next one. Shalate shared, “I think everything is a season. You’re dating, then you’re engaged and then you’re married and marriage is forever. It’s a lifetime. So, we don’t need to rush to get to that part because we have the rest of our lives to do that. Right now I’m just enjoying us being engaged, just being in this love bubble.”
