South African singer Naledi Aphiwe has shared a heartfelt message to her fans after voting officially closed for the Metro FM Music Awards 2026. General voting for the awards ended at 11:59 pm on Sunday, 19 April 2026, marking an important moment for nominees and their supporters.
Naledi Aphiwe has been nominated in several categories at this year’s awards. She is in the running for Best African Pop Song for her track Waiting for You. She also received a nomination for Best R&B Song for Come Duze, as well as another Best African Pop Song nomination for Buya Ekhaya. These nominations highlight her growing influence in the South African music scene and her connection with listeners.
As voting came to an end, the singer took to her social media platforms to thank her fans for standing by her throughout the journey. She wrote, “Today is the last day of voting, and I just want to take a moment to say thank you to each and every person who has been voting for me. Your support, your time, your effort, and your love have meant more to me than words can ever fully explain. Seeing people stand behind me like this has been one of the most beautiful and humbling experiences, and I will never take it for granted.”
She continued by sharing her hopes for the outcome while also appreciating the support she has already received. “Of course, I really hope we bring this one home, because it would mean so much to all of us. But no matter what happens, whether we win or not, I already feel blessed because I have people who genuinely believe in me, support me, and show up for me every single time. That kind of love is bigger than any award. To me, that is a win on its own.”
Naledi Aphiwe ended her message with gratitude and encouragement, saying, “Thank you for riding with me, for believing in the dream, and for reminding me every day that I am not doing this alone. My fans have carried me with so much strength and love, and I see every effort you’ve made. Win or lose, you got me, and that means everything.
