We were all wondering why we didn’t get to see a lot of images from rapper Reason’s birthday party over the weekend.
It’s reported that Reason put a stop to the party after he found out that one of his guests had passed away at the venue where he was hosting his party.
According to Sowetan, a young man that goes by the name of Lawrence Ledimo attempted to slide down the staircase railing but unfortunately lost his balance and tragically fell down seven flights of stairs to his death.
Pearl Thusi, who was the host of the party revealed on Mo Flava’s show that Reason immediately put an end to his party after he heard of Lawrence’s passing.
“We thought Reason was joking and wanted some applause or something, but he came to me and told me what had happened. He really looked shocked about had happened. Big ups to him for cancelling the party immediately.”
The publication reports that right after the party was shut down, police arrived at the scene and cleared the venue out. It’s also said that Reason and his team have reached out to the family to pay their respects and offer their support and assistance towards the funeral arrangements.
Kool Out Concepts was the organisation responsible for planning the party and in charge of the day’s events, they have also since released a statement regarding the tragic event.
“It is with deep personal regret that we inform you of the death of one of our Koolin In The City Patron. Each of us at Kool Out Concepts not only grieves at the passing of an individual that is said to have been a huge fan of our movement but also for the loss his family suffers. At this time we cannot release any personal details about the deceased and ask that everyone respect the privacy of his loved ones at this difficult time,” the statement read.
Reason also took to Twitter to once again send his regards to the family.
Its hard to celebrate life, when another has been lost. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. #RIP
