Reality TV star Annie Mthembu has shared heartfelt words for her cast mates following her appearance on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Africa, which was filmed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Showmax Original brought together fan favourites from Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure filled with culture, connection and personal growth.

The exciting series featured a powerful and diverse cast of women from across the African continent. Representing The Real Housewives of Durban were Annie Mthembu, Angel Ndlela and Jojo Robinson. Johannesburg was represented by Christall Kay and Evodia Mogase. From Nairobi, viewers saw Dr Catherine Masitsa and Zena Nyambu, while Nigerian stars Princess Jecoco from Abuja and Mariam Timmer from Lagos completed the dynamic group.

Taking to social media, Annie reflected on the experience and expressed her gratitude for being part of the show. She shared how meaningful the journey was for her, both personally and culturally. Annie wrote, “Ep 10. Thankful. I had such an incredible experience in Brazil. I was exposed to so many new cultures and had the opportunity to learn more about our beautiful African continent through these phenomenal women.”

She also opened up about the lessons she learned from each woman in the house, showing appreciation for the wisdom and strength her cast mates shared. Annie said the experience taught her valuable life lessons that she will carry with her going forward.

She wrote, “Lessons I’ve taken with me, on a personal level:” and went on to list what she learned from each cast member. About Jojo Robinson, she said, “Let your light shine. Be exactly who you are. The right people will gravitate towards you.” From Zena Nyambu, Annie learned that “There is strength in silence and in protecting your peace.”

She praised Evodia Mogase, saying, “Quiet authority speaks far louder than words ever could.” Annie also shared Dr Catherine Masitsa’s influence, writing, “Live every moment to its fullest. Have fun.” About Angel Ndlela, she said, “Prayer is a superpower. Trust and believe in what God is doing.”

Annie added that Mariam Timmer reminded her that “Looking good does half the job. Speaking with confidence and authority does the rest.” She also highlighted Princess Jecoco’s lesson: “Stand your ground, but lead with empathy. Self-reflection and growth are powerful.”

She ended her reflection by mentioning “I came seeking experience, and I left carrying wisdom, sisterhood, and a deeper trust in Gods timing.”
