outh African singer Naledi Aphiwe has officially released her new song Come Duze, which features fellow artist Mawelele. The song dropped at midnight on Friday, 30 January 2026, and has already started creating excitement among fans who have been following the duo’s musical journey.
Naledi Aphiwe took to Instagram to share the good news with her followers. Along with announcing the release, she also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Come Duze music video. Her excitement was clear as she wrote, “We are back with Come Duze ! Igwinya doesn’t sound like a bad Idea after all. ‘Come Duze’ Music Video goes live at 6PM!!! Please GO stream NOW. The song will be available on all digital platforms midnight.”
The post quickly gained attention, with fans expressing their excitement about seeing Naledi and Mawelele working together again. The music video, which was set to go live later that day, added to the anticipation surrounding the release.
According to The Citizen, Naledi Aphiwe opened up about her collaboration with Mawelele and explained why working with him continues to feel easy and natural. “Our musical conversations are natural. We always meet each other halfway, emotionally, creatively, and with honesty.” She added that their strong chemistry has been the heartbeat of their success as collaborators.
Reflecting on their journey, Naledi revealed that Come Duze is not the only song they have worked on together. “We have done four amazing songs together. We initially wanted to make an entire album, but times were not aligning last year for us to release it,” she explained. Despite the album not coming together, the artists continued to create music whenever the opportunity allowed.
“This new song is a happy ending moment to a complicated fairytale between Mawelele and me. Unlike our first two collabs, which were the beginning of our love story.” The song represents growth and maturity in their creative relationship.
She also spoke about the sound of the track, highlighting how their differences bring balance to the music. “It is a groovy type of Afropop. Mawelele is more into chilled R&B vibes, but I am a high-key, sing-along type of vocalist. Such contrasts are what make a perfect combination in music,” she said.
“I love making music with Mawelele. We are both young and passionate about Afropop and R&B. Our breakthroughs happened around the same time, so a collaboration with the two of us always made sense to them.”
