For more than ten years, Bontle Modiselle-Moloi has remained a powerful presence in South Africa’s entertainment industry. What began as a dance career has grown into something much bigger. Today, she is a respected choreographer and a well-known media personality, working across television, film and music.

Recently, Bontle and her rapper husband, Priddy Ugly, welcomed a baby boy, expanding their family to four. The couple are also parents to their five-year-old daughter, Afrika. With a newborn, a growing family and a busy career, Bontle continues to show grace and strength in every part of her life.

In a candid conversation with TRUELOVE, Bontle spoke openly about goal-setting, motherhood, love and the importance of balance. She shared that she strongly believes in New Year’s resolutions and sees them as an important tool for growth. “I do. I think it’s important to kind of put pen to paper, the things that you really want to challenge yourself to do, or the things that you want to accomplish,” she said. She added that starting the year with intention helps people avoid living “a little goalless and aimless, which can be a little bit dangerous.”

According to Bontle, this season of the year encourages reflection and courage. “But I think a time like this really encourages you to set a goal, to set an idea, to put yourself to the test and to the challenge. And to kind of finish the things you have unfinished business with,” she explained. “The things that I’ve been afraid to do, I want to go for. I want to finish the things that I started for sure.”

Speaking about life after welcoming her second child, Bontle admitted that the transition has been intense. “It’s a lot, it’s a lot,” she said. She revealed that she took time off in 2025, stepping away from social media to find stillness and clarity. “It really was my moment of stillness to make sense of where I was or where we are in life right now, and just to kind of reassess life in general.”

She credits her supportive family and husband for helping her stay grounded. “I’m blessed to be able to do the things I do because I have such an incredible family and I have a husband who is so supportive and so encouraging,” she shared. “He helps me figure it out so that I can stay being my best self.”

Bontle also reflected on her long love story with Priddy Ugly, describing it as “beautiful, beautiful.” The couple are celebrating 17 years together and seven years of marriage. “Obviously, things have changed quite a bit for us,” she said, adding that they are still finding their rhythm after welcoming their second baby.

When it comes to marriage, Bontle believes friendship and faith are key. “Oh, a good friendship. You must start by being friends,” she said. “If God is at the centre, then everything will work out.” She added that long-lasting relationships require effort, honesty and resilience, especially during difficult moments.

Despite everything on her plate, music and dance remain close to her heart. “Oh chile, I’m loving them all,” she said, adding that three-step currently has her attention and that “gqom will never die.” She also shared that she was listening to NgyaSindelwa on her way to the interview, giving a shout-out to DJ Lag.
